In this 3-hour workshop you will learn how to sustainably forage wild ramps. You will learn & experience various methods of preparing and preserving this pungent, garlicky allium. You will take home with you your creation of pickled ramps, compound butter with ramps, and ramp salt.

Have you ever wondered how they make those beautiful Ukrainian Easter Eggs? Here’s your opportunity to learn the traditional art form called Pysanky. Using traditional wax resist technique, followed by a sequence of colored dyes you will create intricate patterns. Each student will create their own Pysanky inspired gourds in time for Easter.
In this 4 hour workshop you will decorate two gourds. In the first TeriLu will walk everyone through the process, introducing the tools, and techniques. Wax and dyes will be applied in a predetermined sequence for a beautiful result. Once the class project is completed, students will have a second gourd onto which they can create their own beautiful Pysanky design. Design references will be provided.
All materials included.
Snacks will be provided.
Dyeing anything is a very messy process. Dress accordingly.
Instructor bio
Terilu Adler is an Indiana Artisan whose mixed media artwork can be seen in Carmel, French Lick, and Vevay galleries. Terilu is a very popular instructor in Madison as well as at gourd conferences. Her felted wool bowls workshop was a big hit at the Southern Indiana Folk School in 2024.

Shrewbury-Windle House Concert Series
General Information
Two musicians, Cellist Cecilia Huerta-Lauf and Violist Elizabeth Stefan, will perform on Sunday, April 27 at the Shrewsbury-Windle House National Historic Landmark at 301 W 1st St. The event also features a dessert plate, champagne, and other non-alcoholic beverages. The concert is sponsored by West Sixth Law Attorneys.
In honor of the great tradition of music at the Shrewsbury-Windle House, Historic Madison looks forward to welcoming musicians to the house again. Included in this tradition, we know that an orchestra played at the 1849 housewarming party given by the Shrewsbury family shortly after the house was built. John and Ann Windle were also avid music lovers and invited musician friends to play in the home as often as possible. The home has played host to numerous musicians ever since. Brief biographies of the featured musicians are included below.

Tickets are required for entry. Reserved seating is available both inside the Carriage House and under the VIP tent (sold separately). Guests are welcome, but each person must have their own ticket. Individuals under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are $125.00 for the day and $50.00 for under 21. Includes all your food and beverages for Derby Day. Gates open at 2pm (Note the change in time for this year). Only house guest will be allowed in the event halls before 2pm. DERBY ATTIRE ONLY.
Be sure to bring your mint julep cup! If you don’t have one from a past Derby event, you can purchase one online for $25. Back by popular demand is our ‘Top Shelf’ VIP option, offering access to a private bar and the chance to mingle with the musicians. This is the red-carpet spot you won’t want to miss! Pre-Derby Friday Evening Oaks Event is $75.00. Includes heavy Hors oeuvres, open bar, and live music. Seats included in this price. Event starts at 5pm with Oaks going off a 6pm. Live music featuring AR Cash with guest Blair Carman and Anthony Ray Wright. Jacket, Jeans and Boots welcomed. This is a fun way to kick off Derby weekend! Limited number of seats. Must be over 21.

- There is a lack of public transportation options in this area of Southern, Indiana; There are limited Ubers, taxis, and rental cars. We encourage you to plan accordingly, such as carpooling, ride sharing, etc.
- We will arrange for a scheduled pickups at nearby airports, such as Louisville and Cincinnati. We will communite those time frames at a later date.

About John Harrod & Kentucky Wild Horse
Kentucky Wild Horse takes its name from an old Eastern Kentucky fiddle tune that was played by Wolfe County fiddler Darley Fulks (1895-1990). Kentucky’s older music traditions are the inspiration for this talented group of singers and instrumentalists. Their repertoire consists of older roots music and bluegrass songs, fiddle tunes learned from older Kentucky musicians, and newer original songs that reflect on life in the region today. Along with the songs and tunes, Kentucky Wild Horse audiences are treated to stories of the wise and colorful characters whose music inspired the band.

Electric Blue Yonder (EBY) researches the human condition and reports its findings through harmonious song. Exploring what it means to be human while discovering the mysteries of the universe, the intrepid band of Space Folk seeks to find others of their kind. Human. Kind. Described as “Real American Space Folk,” the band draws its inspiration from the psychedelic folk, surf, and cosmic country rock of the 60s and the Space Age prog/art rock explorations of David Bowie and Pink Floyd, all while shifting time to the early roots and parlour style guitar of the 20th century. Please join the Jefferson County Youth Shelter for the 11th Annual Rubber Duck Race! The event is located at the Broadway Fountain downtown Madison on Saturday, August 9th, 2025. This annual event will feature hundreds of rubber ducks racing around the fountain. We'll have prizes, cookies, and lots of great fun for the whole family!
