Cooking with Ramps Workshop

After a long winter, the sight of ramps is highly anticipated in Appalachia. Let Master Naturalist & Chef Elizabeth Chapa introduce you to early spring wild plant foraging and how to make the most of the delicious flavors found there.
In this 3-hour workshop you will learn how to sustainably forage wild ramps. You will learn & experience various methods of preparing and preserving this pungent, garlicky allium. You will take home with you your creation of pickled ramps, compound butter with ramps, and ramp salt.
Instructor bio
Elizabeth Chapa is a local culinary expert with a passion for foraging and sustainable cooking. She honed her skills while working in a variety of esteemed restaurants over the years and as the owner of the Local Harvest Market in Madison, IN.
