The Southern Indiana Folk School @ The Jefferson County History & Art Center (615 W. 1st Street, Madison, IN 47250)

A favorite Christmas treat, Springerle is an anise flavored, embossed cookie. The origin of this German cookie recipe dates back to the 14th century.

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the process of making Springerle cookies, taste a variety of Springerle cookies flavors (yum!), and emboss your own cookies to take home and bake. Along with the tray of cookies you will take home three recipes and tips for success. Your Springerle are sure to become a favorite Christmas treat in your own family.

Please bring a cookie sheet. We will provide a fresh kitchen towel to cover your cookies.

Instructor Bio:

Sarah Green shared her generations old Springerle recipe with her niece, Shannon Dattilo. Now they have teamed up to share their knowledge and love of this special Winter-time treat with us.

Please register by November 6th. Limited spots available!

Recommended for individuals 14 years or older.
