Capturing the Seasons: Leaf & Flower Printing and Pounding
Thursday, September 5th, 2024 | 1-3:30pm
General Admission = $35
The Southern Indiana Folk School @ The Jefferson County History & Art Center (615 W. 1st Street, Madison, IN 47250)
Savor the abundance of Madison's seasons by learning two ways to capture the color and texture of flowers and leaves. The techniques we will use are low cost and use everyday household materials. Each technique has its own advantages.
Flower pounding captures vivid colors and the shapes of flowers and leaves. Leaf printing captures delicate leaf veins and branching. Ginko, catalpa, elm, and japanese maple work well with leaf printing.
Students will decorate a canvas tote bag using these techniques.
If you have specific leaves and flowers you want to try bring them. Otherwise we will supply all materials and equipment.
Please register by September 3rd. Limited spots available!
Recommended for individuals 16 years or older.
