About Zachariah Malachi & The Nashville Counts

While most country music artists and bands you hear of may stay in a predictable country radio or outlaw oriented lane, Detroit turned Nashvillian Zachariah Malachi has been known to be a shape-shifter of originality to the genre of honky tonk music. He can glide through the minor chords of Eastern European jazz and morph it into the depths of barroom basement regret dealing in topics of cheating, drinking, fighting and the morning after.

His backing band, The Nashville Counts is the collected talents of fiddler and harmony singer Jack Bird; guitarist and banjo player Anthony Castagna; steel guitar and trumpet player Eddie Slide, and bass extraordinaire Luca Chiappara. The band name alone gives a hint to sinister presence that awaits any stage that they are about to take.  Together, this group of juke-joint vampires will take you on a ride through country music madness that you will feel compelled to tell your friends about what you just experienced.

Zachariah Malachi & The Nashville Counts thrive on giving you a show full of unpredictability that will leave you wondering about their next musical destination. The music is not just country. The music is not just punk. The music is not just Americana or Folk. The music is honky tonk from the Hardscuffle region of Tennessee fueled by the perseverance of a Motor City V8 engine that won’t stop until it’s race is won.

About Anthony Ray Wright Band

Without a doubt, Anthony Ray Wright is a player’s kind of musician. He left high school after only one week to gig full time playing lead guitar, drums and bass - and he stayed busy. Still a teenager, Anthony Ray jammed with Funk Bass legend Bootsy Collins and he recorded an unreleased single at Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. In Seattle, Washington, he supported an upcoming act live on KEXP, a nationally respected Indie music tastemaker station. He knew he wasn’t just a side guy. It was in the remote West Texas desert town of Alpine that Anthony poured his focus into fronting his own act. Locally the show was an instant hit.

After recording his first album, he relocated to Austin, Texas, “Live Music Capitol of the World”. He truly found his people there. On tour across the states and Canada, he grabbed the attention of some big names. Anthony Ray Wright has opened for Ray Wylie Hubbard, Dale Watson, and the legendary Billie Joe Shaver, just to name a few. In 2022, Wright honored the legacy of Johnny Cash by playing in a tribute at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.

Anthony Ray Wright has released two full length albums: The Foolish Anthony Ray Wright (2021) and A Country Music Album (2023). In addition, he has many popular single releases including “Foolish Minded” and “Parking Lot Whiskey”.
